To those who are new here, my name is Monif Clarke. For those who know my namesake brand, Monif C. Plus Sizes, I'm so happy to see you here!
The story of Luxe starts the way all of my passion projects do: a personal need. At 26, sick and tired of the black, tan and floral boxy garments most plus size retailers offered, I started Monif C. Plus Sizes. I knew that if I needed gorgeous, stylish clothing, other women did too.
Now at 46, life has new challenges. Like so many women, I'm navigating perimenopause and hair loss, and many of us dealing with medical treatments, cancer, lupus or alopecia can't wear the braided styles we love anymore. I didn't see the realistic, luxury braided wigs I wanted, so I created them.
These are NOT the old-school braided wigs you've seen before (no Shemar Moore in Diary of a Mad Black Woman over here 😂). They're luxe, versatile and protective. And even if you don't have hair loss, who's got 6, 7, 8 hours to sit in a braiding chair?
